For Tea Swap:  I never met a tea I didn't like.  I love bags and loose tea.  My only issue is make sure that the tea has NO NUT OILS - almond, peanut, hazelnut, etc. OH, and the only flavor I don't like is licorice/anise.

I am a SAHM of 3 - 11 y.o. boy, 8 y.o. boy, and 5 y.o. girl.  I've been married for 16 years to my wonderful husband, who I met in college.  We are both Southern California natives, and we have lived in Orange County for 16 years.  (By the way - it was *never* called "The OC" until that show came out!!! grrrrrrrrrrr LOL).  I also have a cat named Frosty who my kids call "His Royal Kittieness."

I love reading (duh), movies, computers, and scrapbooking.  There are several things I love that I don't have much time for any more:  Scrapbooking, card making, cross-stitching, sewing.

We are *huge* hockey fans (in spite of growing up in southern California!).  Hubby and I used to play in a co-ed league years ago (until I got pregnant with my 11 year old).  We have had 2nd row seats to the Anaheim Ducks since the very first game of the very first season back in 1993.  Needless to say, 2007 was a very exciting year for us!  Our oldest son is a goalie for a Pee-Wee team.  So far, their tournament schedule for 2008 is taking them to Las Vegas, Chicago, and (!) Russia.  Obviously, hockey is a big part of our lives!

Some faves: Books:  Anything but romance, western, paranormal, and true horror (I love mysteries and thrillers, though).

TV:  The Office, Entourage, Medium (funny, since I don't like paranormal books), and my guilty pleasure - Dancing with the Stars.

Movies:  About Last Night, North by Northwest, Dangerous Liaisons (the one with Glenn Close), Young Frankenstein, Planes Trains & Automobiles, No Way Out, The Usual Suspects, Crash, The Departed, Uncle Buck - All somewhere in my top 20 fave movies of all time. (Bold are movies I have on DVD)

Music - 80's and 90's alternative are my faves.  I don't like most country or heavy heavy metal.

For the bookmark swap:  I love new, used, hand-made, store-bought - Whatever!! I like the traditional kind, the clippy kind, the ribbon kind, the kind with little dangly things - again, whatever!

  • Air fresheners:  I like the plug-in oil types and I have a couple different diffusers that use straight essential oils.  Other than true essential oils, I don't really like anything too floral.  A great source for essential oils and diffusers for them is www.naturesgift.com. I don't have a tart warmer, but I would love one.  They're really cool.
  •  Alcohol:  Okay, I *am* kind of a wine snob.  My favorites are reds, although I like whites, too.  Price is not the object - you just like some and don't like some.  I'm always willing to try new wines, and there are lots of really good ones under $20, even under $10.  I'm not a big fan of 2-Buck Chuck, though.  I love any wine-related goodies.
  •  Allergies:  Nuts in every way shape and form.  Walnuts send me into anaphylactic shock.  I have to carry an epi-pen.
  •  Bags:  I love any bags: totes, beach, straw, make-up, purses, whatever.
  •  Bath and Body:  Jergens Ultra-Healing lotion (SUPER dry skin!), dead sea salts, salt rubs, pure jojoba oil, pretty much any Calvin Klien scent, lip glosses (I have kind of medium olive skin, if that helps any), nail polish, anti-aging-type lip balms, Garnier face and eye moisturizers (the anti-aging type - yikes), Loreal Revilalift Eye, Redken hair sprays #18 and #23, refills for Oil of Olay face cloths (sensitive skin or anti-aging).
  •  Beverages:  Starbucks whole bean coffees (anything but the mild ones), green tea, any herb teas, any teas - just NO NUTS
  •  Birthday:  September 28
  •  Calendar:  I only use Outlook and my Palm Centro (my LIFE is in that phone!)
  •  Candles:  LOVE candles and candle holders, but nothing too floral.  As I mentioned above, I think tart warmers are really cool, but I don't have one.
  •  Candy/food:  Milky Ways, Rolos, any fun mixes (like breads, soups, or whatever), minty or cinnamon-y sugar-free gum, and, my all time favorite, Molasses Chips from See's (either dark or milk) - I *love* those things!!!!
  •  Clothing/clothing accessories:  I love slippers of any kind (7 1/2 or 8) and I love the fun/chunky/fuzzy knit scarves that are out these days, I love flip flops and sandals 7 1/2 or 8.
  •  Collect:  Tea pots (the kind you pour boiling water in, not the kind for the stove) and tea cups, NHL memorabila (any team, from key chains and note pads to jerseys to pucks)
  •  Crafts:  Yes, but I don't have time to use the crafting stuff I have LOL.
  •  Credits?  I don't need any at the moment (amazing!!!!!).
  •  Décor:  Crosses, anything wrought or burnished iron, collage frames (wood finish), regular frames (metallic/metal or fake gilt)
  •  Garden/Outdoors:  Windchimes, bird houses, bird feeders
  •  Hobbies: reading, sewing, scrapbooking, card making, rubber stamps/ink, jigsaw puzzles of famous works of art.  I also would LOVE to learn to knit - just scarves and easy stuff like that - if anyone has a suggestion for a good learn-to-knit book.
  •  Gift Cards:  Favorite places to shop - oh man, how can I even narrow this down? Kohl's, Borders, Amazon.com, Pier 1, Best Buy, Bath & Body Works...I could go on and on.....
  •  Hair: head bands, Redken hair sprays #18 and #23
  •  Holiday decorations? yes, yes, and yes - any and all holidays :)
  •  Jewelry:  not much of a jewelry wearer.
  •  Kids:  see waaaayyyy above
  •  Kitchen:  I love those matching dishtowel packets, inexpensive - they come in a pile - am I making sense? (we have dark blue and lemon yellow in our kitchen).  I am dying for a couple of those kitchen glove thingys with the actual fingers that can take up to like 600 degrees of heat - they're made from some sort of rubberish thing??.  I love Tupperware.  I can always use those type of storage containers you see in Target that can go from freezer to microwave to oven to dishwasher (any sizes).  I love fun kitchen gadgets of any sort.
  •  Magazines?  I'd love a subscription to: Bookmarks, Mental Floss, Popular Photography, Smart Computing, Allure.
  •  Mailing supplies?  The kind of shipping tape you can tear (instead of needing scissors or a tape gun), Bubble envelopes sizes 0,2, and 5 (I especially like the water-resistant ones, but no biggie)
  •  Misc:
  •  Restaurants:  Ummmm...Ones that serve food that I don't have to cook?
  • Shoes:  I love flip flops and sandals (7 1/2 - 8)
  •  Sports:  Love hockey, although of course the Anaheim Ducks are my favorite.  I love the Boston Red Sox as well.
  •  State:  Orange County, California
  •  Stationary:  I love basically any type of stationary stuff.
  •  Wishlist books.  Hmm, I will have to think about that......
  •  Anything you can't find locally, but your buddy might be able to locate in her state:  Okay, I know it's weird, but I love Fire Department t-shirts.  It's a long story.  Anyway, If you have a good friend or loved one who is in a fire department, I would love a shirt.  I'd also like to know how they are related to you (husband, 3rd cousin, next-door neighbor, etc. - no names or anything), and where their station is located if the shirt doesn't say (not like a street address, but say if they are a state or county FD, what city or area they are in - most of the time the shirts have this info though).

  •  Be sure to include the list of things you DISLIKE or don't need at this time.  Just a reminder about my nut allergies - pay special attention to body stuff (has nut products in it sometimes) and candles, etc (no nut fragrances).

Happy reading all and may 2008 be your best year ever!
